I was born and raised in Decatur Georgia, just outside of Atlanta, and grew up constantly surrounded by art. My father is a Cuban-American artist who took me with him to gallery openings and museum exhibits weekly. This exposed me to a vast array of culture and allowed me to see the different ways people could express themselves through their artwork. I would see my father work and was inspired. Soon, I found myself exploring my own skills and finding my own ways to communicate. After graduation, it was important that I find a career where I could pursue the creative talents that I had developed over the years. In studying graphic design, I have found a great way to use my skills.

In my opinion, communication is one of the most important tools we have to better ourselves, others, and society. Art is communication through emotion. Graphic design finds a balance between emotion and information, making design the ultimate form of communication, and a wonderful tool for influencing the world around us.
